E-9 Visa Workers: What You Must Know About Changing Workplaces

E-9 비자 근로자, 사업장 이동 전 반드시 확인하세요!

Foreign workers on an E-9 (non-professional employment) visa are generally required to stay at their originally assigned workplace. However, in cases such as business closure or unpaid wages, changing workplaces is allowed up to 3 times. After your contract ends, you must apply for a workplace change at the Employment Center within 1 month of leaving. If you don't find a new workplace within 3 months, you will be required to leave Korea. Note that employers who informally move workers to other sites without proper procedures may face heavy fines — so workers should also be aware of their rights. ※ For details, consulting with a licensed administrative agent (행정사) is recommended.
