Student Visa Screening Now Hinges on University "Certification" Status

유학생 비자 심사, '인증대학' 여부로 크게 갈린다

Student Visa Screening Now Hinges on University "Certification" Status Body: Korea's Ministry of Education and Ministry of Justice have designated 181 universities as "certified" institutions after evaluating how they recruit and manage international students. Students at certified schools get simplified visa screening (a standard admission letter is enough), but 16 degree-program universities that failed to meet standards — such as illegal-stay rates — face a one-year visa suspension starting the second semester of 2026. If you're planning to study in Korea, check whether your target university is certified first. Source: https://www.kyosu.net/news/articleView.html?idxno=157879
