The Korean government has allocated a record 93,503 seasonal foreign workers for the first half of 2026, the largest number since the program was introduced. This year's agricultural labor policy focuses not only on expanding the workforce but also on strengthening worker protections — including mandatory wage guarantee insurance, farmers' safety insurance, and injury coverage. Basic farm work training materials in Vietnamese, Khmer, Lao, and Filipino will be available online from December 2026. A new "agricultural skilled worker visa" is also being discussed with the Ministry of Justice.
