Guide to Master’s and PhD Programs for International Students
“Notice on the Relaxation of Korean Language Proficiency Requirements for Research-Field Internships for Science and Engineering Master’s and Doctoral International Students”
■This policy applies to permission for research-field internship activities during vacation periods for international students enrolled in master’s and doctoral programs in science and engineering, and is limited to the eligible applicants and activity fields specified below.
1. Eligible Applicants : International students enrolled in science and engineering master’s or doctoral programs who:
Have an average GPA of C (2.0) or higher in the immediately preceding semester, and Have received confirmation of part-time employment eligibility from the university’s international student office.
* For students who are currently completing their first semester after admission and have not yet been issued a transcript, the GPA requirement does not apply.
2.Restricted Applicants (Not Eligible)
The following individuals are not eligible:
1) Individuals granted special permission for extension of stay
Persons who have completed (finished coursework of) a regular university program but are allowed to remain under a student status on an exceptional basis due to failure to meet graduation requirements (such as insufficient credits or attendance).
2) Holders of Research Program Status (D-2-5)
※ D-2-5 students already participate in research activities and receive stipends; therefore, additional part-time employment is not permitted.
3) Violations Related to Part-Time Employment
Individuals who, as of the application date:
Have not received permission for part-time employment within the past three months, or Have a history of penalties due to violation of part-time employment permission conditions.
