Foreign Workers on E-9 & H-2 Visas: Long-Term Visa Transition Now Expanding

With over 1.1 million foreign workers now living in Korea, the government is moving to make it easier to transition to the Skilled Worker (E-7-4) long-term visa. If you've worked for 4 or more years on an E-9 (non-professional employment) or H-2 (visit employment) visa and meet requirements such as Korean language ability and income level, you may be eligible to upgrade your visa status. Long-term residents may eventually qualify for a Resident (F-2) or Permanent Resident (F-5) visa. It's a good idea to check your eligibility now and plan ahead.
