Working During Chuseok? Know Your Holiday Pay (5+ Employee Workplaces)

1. If you work during the Chuseok holiday (Sep 24–26), check your pay carefully.
2. At workplaces with 5 or more employees, these three days are paid holidays. If you work, you get 1.5x your ordinary wage for up to 8 hours and 2x beyond that.
3. Work after 10 p.m. adds another 0.5x, for a maximum of 2.5x.
4. Workplaces with fewer than 5 employees are not covered by the premium rule, but any terms in your contract or company rules take priority.
5. If Saturday (Sep 26) is normally an unpaid day off for you, overlapping with the holiday does not add extra paid-holiday wages.
6. There is no substitute holiday this Chuseok under the rules.
